Sally King Benedict Pop Up Shop.

I'm a long time lover of Sally King Benedict's paintings, (plus doesn't she have the best name?) and today she is having a pop up shop over at Furbish. Original art and prints will be up for grabs. The originals are works on paper that range between $95 - $450 dollars. Works on paper are a great way to get into the art buying game, they are cheaper and less intimidating. I want to buy one of those faces. Love em. I guess I better get on that before they are all gone. Shop the pop up shop at Furbish. … [Read more...]

The Landscape.

"Looks like a painting!" some of you said about my photos of Connecticut. And indeed, it does. Specifically, it looks like these paintings, which I discovered in Connecticut. The Dancing Leaves.

They look and feel like lungs and heartbeats to me. They are the work of Shanghai based artist Yunfan Tan. I'm mesmerized. Hope you are all having a great weekend! … [Read more...]

ART CRAZE // Neon Signs.

Before I even get to the blog post, I just have to say that the only thing I miss about NYC is the freakin WiFi. If you only knew how many times I had to refresh my bullshit browser and reload, and wait for pictures to upload.... UGH. I spent 45 minutes just going back and forth between our wifi and the neighbors, then I just left the pictures to load and went and did some stuff, came back and it's still a disaster.  Anyway, art trends are as weird and random as any other trend. And one of the biggest  in art this year has been neon sign wordage... It's everywhere/ was all over Basel etc. I'm … [Read more...]
