What works for me is to buy the basics that I need for the following year on sale( for example, black boots or a bag). I avoid impulse/ unnecessary purchases that way. Plus, if I noticed a cool/ trendy item that was too expensive and went on sale, I may consider purchasing the item if I still want it.

'I know people who won’t shop sales thinking: If I didn’t like it enough to buy it when it was expensive, I shouldn’t clutter up my life with it now, just cause its cheap. AND, also, the good stuff doesn’t go on sale'

This person is obviously me cause I've told you this before lol, so I thought i'd address it. I do believe people buy things they don't need because of sales, but I love sales. I love finding pieces on sale that I loved but couldn't or didn't want to splurge on, I get such a high off of that! I still stand by what I said though, if you didn't really like it when it wasn't on sale don't buy it just because it is on sale!

The Dries pair I adore. For me a heel a bit shorter would be better, love the palette and design!

I really cannot stand to pay retail, you may take a chance that what you want will be available, however I feel the sales price is the Right price!

Depends where you go. Barney's shoe sale is insane, saks is not so bad, and Bergdorfs is crazy, BUT you can score really good stuff.

Barneys clothes sale was like 25% off of already 75% off stuff... It was great.

The kids clothes advance shopping is kind of tricky...With kids clothes, I find you really do have to buy them an entire wardrobe in sizes that range from fitting now, to will fit in march -In advance and between september and november.

My daughter is SO HARD on her clothes and by december, we really need new sizes and just more of everything. The problem is that thats right when the stores switch over to cruise wear and spring, and so if you didn't buy enough winter clothes in September, you're up shits creek. (Not like with adult stores, where you can pretty much replenish any time you want, although the months of January and July are AWFUL for shopping.

This has nothing to do with sale shopping, except that the first few times I did this, I GROSSLY overestimated how big my daughter would be. When she was born they tell you to buy clothes that are 12 mos for when the kid is 6 months. I quickly found out that she is tiny and that she pretty much always wears the size of how old she is. Now she is 3, she is wearing a size 3. I bought her 2 very pretty dresses at the end of last summer in a size 4, and they fit now, but still a little bit big.

My son is 11 months and he wears 18-24 and weighs almost as much as she does, so i wouldn't buy him clothes for next year because WHO KNOWS what size he will be! I can't predict his growth AT ALL!

Anyway... sorry for the rant, thats my two cents.

[...] I don’t know why I inexplicably dislike Reed Krakoff, the man, even though I like the things he makes… You can read my comprehensive report (not really) on him and see photos of his house and art collection HERE. [...]

Those shoes are amazing. I also love sales, especially for shoes. I take an annual Super Bowl shopping trip to Scoop during the game for great sales. BTDubs tell your hubs that Eddie DeBartolo was robbed tonight.
