Meeting of the minds.
Dries van Awesome Fall 2011 shoes meet your counterpart, this entryway by Jamie Bush & Co. Oh yea!!!!! Hi. Franz Kline (look alike?) painting, say hello to those squiggly socks. Um, hi. How are you?

Emerson Fry cocktail ring stylist, I’d like to introduce you to this strange Pinterest-uploaded Mona Lisa made of old tapes.
Kelly Wearstler for de Gournay wallpaper, I really thought you would hit if off with this quirky retro pin up editorial for Bon International via FGR.

And you, Architectural Digest funky and elegant room meet the coat who wants to live here, although I think it lives in Paris with that pretty girl I spotted via The Locals.
Indulge me people, this week marks three years of continual non-stop, doesn’t skip a day (ya know, its rare) blogging. It’s been a long, crazy and sometimes tedious road. I’m entitled to go a little batty once in a while, now aren’t I?
The thing about blogging is that it can take you to amazing places in your life and career, but at the end of the day you still have your homework due at 6 am the next morning, now don’t you? No matter how rich or famous, every blogger still plods away at a computer, alone, trying to entertain, amuse and inspire…. and it doesn’t get easier. One might say it gets harder. I’ve written over 1500 posts in almost 1100 days… how much more could I possibly say? And yet…. on we go.
Talk to me people!
The return to denim.

I bought my first pair of actual non-stretch, non skin tight jeans, jeans this week. First pair since about 2004 or 5. Do you know how good it felt to wear actual real jeans? Made out of real soft worn in denim? That wasn’t painted on like a second skin? And didn’t give me muffin top? It felt good.
We’ve been seeing the cool girls wearing boyfriend jeans for years now. But I didn’t want a boyfriend jean. Because I’m short and I didn’t want to be overwhelmed by a big hulking mass of denim that would ultimately make me look 10+ lbs larger. Not a good look for the under 5’6″ set.
What I wanted was apparently a slimmer version of a boyfriend… one that would just cover my legs lightly but not suffocate me.
Here are a few pairs that I really love, wear with chunky heeled sandal, Marni cuffs and vintage inspired shades… and I’ve been loving that gray/green leather fisherman looking vest for weeks. I’ve been quietly stalking it… It might be just what I need to finish off my spring uniform. And I may just DIY a super distressed pair of jeans.

It turns out that Edition 01, has a really inspirational blog that they call The Journal. It’s a gathering of beautiful fashion photography, behind the scenes on the photo shoots for their limited edition pieces they create with designers, and a deeper look into the crafts of some of their favorite artists, designers and artisans.
Here are some images that I grabbed, a little pick me up on this dumpy Friday.

H&M bangles, better than Marni!
So? Marni for H&M?
I went to a preview event last night at the H&M on 5th ave with my friend Leandra aka The Man Repeller, and of course, I was expecting to have a gorgeous Marni for H&M shopping experience… hobnobbing with elite fashion people and having my pick of the goodies. Um, no.
Marni for H&M belt, my favorite score, complete with a Texas Tuxedo, and a peak of my Haring Cuff DIY. And yes, it occurred to me that I post a lot of crotch shots.
Not even a little bit. Everything was gone by the time we got there. GONE baby GONE. So we waited by the registers for people to have last minute buyers remorse, or even for credit cards to bounce! I was able to score a few of the accessories I wanted that other people had cast off (including earrings and sandals, not pictured)… but people were STEALING things out of our hands and bags. MARNI for H&M was pick pocketed off my person. Yes, you heard that right. Theft.
Marni for H&M Cuff, H&M Bangles
So after pulling together a few things and throwing back a few drinks, we bounced and got some food.
Ultimately, Marni made a good collection of accessories, an OK collection of clothing and its still just not worth it. Case in point: stacked with the Marni goods are some plain old H&M plastic bangles, and let me tell you, they are pretty Marni looking and pretty damn fab. I’m excited about my few good scores, but not as excited as I thought I would be…It’s just……..stuff.
That said, if these collections just happened and were available without risk of incurring bodily harm, I’m all for it!
So how about you guys? How did you do in your various cities across the country? Anyone get any of the clothes? I didn’t get to buy any of it because the white patent leather shirt I want was stolen from me!
