DESIGN | Vibrant Summer in the Hamptons.

Hi, today I wanted to share a home that I photographed last summer. It was recently published in the Cottages & Gardens Hamptons edition - it even made the cover!- and so now I can share it online with you all... It's the home that designer Sasha Bikoff designed for her mom shortly after she was diagnosed with cancer as a place for her to relax and recuperate and regain strength... We shot this just weeks before she passed away so the publishing of the house is bitter sweet. The house itself though is super happy. Just a block from the ocean, it's filled with light, art, color and pedigree … [Read more...]

Patricia Voulgaris | Hidden in Plain Sight.

How awesome is this photo series by Patricia Voulgaris?! It is called "Hidden in Plain Sight" and it consists of various parts of the human body covered with sheets of paper to create these awesome images. “My work primarily focuses on combining photography and sculpture using the human form as a platform objectively through juxtaposition, layering and context, I am interested in the deconstruction and recontextualization of an image and the result: a manipulated hybrid,” says Voulgaris. Strange but fascinating, like the human body itself, amarite? My favorite is the super … [Read more...]

PHOTO DIARY | Tour of Versailles.

Feel like taking a little break from your day and visiting Versailles with me? I have so many pictures  it's making my head spin. Versailles was built ten miles out of Paris by Louis the XIII as a hunting lodge. Louis the XIV, The Sun King, changed it into a glorious Chateau, making it the head of the government and his primary residence. It's literally one of the most glorious things I've ever seen. The floors, the windows, the fabrics, the doors. Even though its hundreds of years old, the taste is so refined that it still feels contemporary in certain ways. It's a phenomenal place to visit, … [Read more...]

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

It all started when model Elyse Taylor  and stylist Danielle Nachmani were shooting a photo diary for Vogue Australia. They had a professional photographer in tow, but after shooting, they decided they didn't love the photos and use the photos from Daniella Nachmani's iPhone 6 instead, to rave reviews. (Which I have to admit, is literally every photographers worst nightmare.) They realized they had captured something simple and magical by using just an iPhone to shoot... Honestly, I generally encounter two types of clients. One that wants everything pristine and edited and as DSLR-y as they … [Read more...]

World Photo Contest 2016

Migrants crossing the border from Serbia into Hungary.

Above is the winning image of the 2016 World Photo Contest, Hope for a New Life by Australian photographer Warren Richardson. The photo depicts a man passing a baby through barbed wire on the Hungarian-Serbian. Richardson camped with a group of 200 people who were attempting to cross the border for nearly a week. "I camped with the refugees for five days on the border. A group of about 200 people arrived, and they moved under the trees along the fence line. They sent women and children, then fathers and elderly men first. I must have been with this crew for about five hours and we played cat … [Read more...]
