DSCF0676 Welcome to Week Three! I think I officially started to freak out yesterday. We’re half way through and while I have some AMAZING construction progress sneak peaks to show you, I still have huge holes in the room furniture wise.

And now, progress:  IMG_1963

The room looked so lovely in the afternoon light, I didn’t want to brighten the photo. Floors have been scraped down to their original red oak color and refinished with a clear, water based matte coat. You can’t tell here, but it LOOKS AMAZING. We also repainted the ceiling. Those two things alone freshened up the room x1000. I’m keeping the wood walls and fireplace in here as is, of course.

Wait, I just found a better shot of the floor – along with a batik I picked up while antiquing this week, and a beautiful runner from Candelabra.

And also, remember all my pretty inspo pics:  IMG_9916 sofa-time

I used that concept to create THIS:

In case you can’t see what that is, its a giant 20 foot built in sofa frame, with a vintage screen from our grandmother built in behind it. OH BABY. Waiting on our cushions.

And then I turned this inspo: IMG_9915

Into this:

What was there before you might be thinking?  A built in china cabinet with doors that I took off and saved to use in another room. I really wanted to open up the whole wall and make it all windows, but apparently that would require some steel beams and ripping off half the house? So that can’t happen. Instead we built this yummy thing. That I love. SO SO much.

If you follow my instagram – you’d see behind the scenes of this being built- including my initial HORRIBLE sketch, which was so bad it was amazing.

I need to style that thing up big time… and you know, get some other actual furniture? All I have are those Botta chairs. Which you know, aint a bad thing, but I’m officially a bit nervous.

OK, thats all for now. I think this was a big week in terms of getting major work crossed off the list, but still, NEED STUFF!
