Welcome to week 2 of the ORC, and Happy Passover :) This week I’m focusing on channeling my vision and getting focused. I made a mood board featuring some of the products I pulled and I’m using this to drive the project forward.
First things first, I had the floors re-stained last week, and the ceiling painted white which made a world of a difference. The room is now refreshed and clean feeling! There are also custom furniture pieces being built, which should be super exciting!

Additionally, I made an in real life mood board of found objects, fabrics, and other textiles and hardware I am using in the space. The floral is the linen from the vintage sofa I currently own. All the fabrics, and the wallpaper are from Fabricut. My favorites being the AMAZING Crypton Sand Linen stain and water repelling sand linen on the bottom right. I am also using the gold mohair in the room, but the other fabrics were just added to the moodboard for mood and vibe. I would use them all if I could, and I hope my room has the same aesthetic as the mood board even without all the extra samples! Anyway, things are currently being made… so exciting – many thanks to Window Treats in Redbank, NJ for rushing my upholstery over!
The doorknobs are by Emtek, the people at Emtek custom made a beautiful knob for me – which has a porcelain knob, black shank and a classic brass rosette! I love them sooo much, and they really pick up on the other classic hardware that is featured through out the house. Such as that little black pull on the bottom there. Even though the house is super midcentury, a lot of the original hardware and details are classic black/white and brass. The rug is a custom cut sisal that I ordered from The lovely folks at Weinstien’s Carpet and Flooring months ago. Isnt it dreamy? I feel like it really sets the mood for the house. I am using other sisals throughout the house, including a “nearly indestructible” indoor/outdoor sisal on a stair and hall thanks to the recommendation of the folks at Weinstien’s. Cant wait to see these babies installed.
This striped linen is a sample I pulled from Fabricut, but I don’t think I will actually find a place for it in. Bummer, because I love it. The plate is a plate I “threw” myself last summer and never kilned. And the shells and rocks were collected by me and the kiddies and were actually the starting point for the whole vibe of the house. I just kept adding things to the table as I walked by… All my gorgeous Fabricate samples, which I would use on every surface if I could. Antiqued mirror, but for where? And last, the Crypton protected linen, and the floral sofa.
Hope you like this Inspo! By next week I will have MUCH more accomplished in the actual space and I will start giving some sneak peaks. I also think Ill probably have finished or gotten further along in my selections by then! AND, last but not least, I have an exciting collab being announced tomorrow!
