I’m really excited to share this home today. It’s the Brooklyn home of my friend designer Jennifer Shalom, which she designed in collaboration with Cuffhome, using many of their custom made products as well. We shot this a few months ago when Jen and I were both 9 months pregnant. Fun times! This was a particularly exciting shoot for me, because I got to play around and take artsy shots of the architecture and tone on tone textures in the home. I also love that there are so many take away ideas for the readers: A. Invest in lighting B. Big Art C. That ‘dipped in paint’ scenario in the boys rooms D. Furniture as sculpture. When designing a monochrome house like this one, its important to think about two things: the lines of the furniture, and the textures. Cuffhome and Jen took that to the next level with this one.
And yes, I LOVE that Jen has my ‘Cabanas’ print hanging in her living room. I custom made it for her in black and white.
