Today I’m on a plane to Sedona (woohoo!) but yesterday I hopped over to the Metropolitan Pavilion to sign my painting and check out it all out since I’m missing it this year. Soooo, this is what being on Design Star or some other reality tv show is like? (Coulda asked Danielle Colding and Genevieve Gorder, they were both there working on their rooms.) You have until 4 pm to assemble this room. Period. Do you have a hammer? A vacuum? A two by four? A wrench? At 3 pm yesterday some rooms were still down to bare paint, while others sat smugly styled, designers no where to be found. “Ha ha,” they said, “we’re allll done. It’s getting awfully late now, isnt it???”
After hanging my piece and helping Nicole unwrap things and hang more art (Quesions: how many adults does it take to hang three prints? Answer: More than 3!) I got to look around and snap some pictures in the middle of the chaos. I’m pretty bummed that I cant make it this year because there is some stuff that I was totally eyeballing. Well priced stuff. Vintage stuff. New stuff.
Anyway, some behind the scenes photos. I particularly love the ones of the power tools mixed in with the high end accessories, although I did find many finished vignettes!
