BUSHWICK: It was all a dream.

I used to read Word Up magazine.

Salt’n’Pepa and Heavy D up in the limousine

Hangin’ pictures on my wall

Every Saturday Rap Attack, Mr. Magic, Marley Marl

I let my tape rock ’til my tape popped
Smokin’ weed and bamboo, sippin’ on private stock

Way back, when I had the red and black lumberjack
With the hat to match

Remember Rappin’ Duke, duh-ha, duh-ha
You never thought that hip hop would take it this far

Now I’m in the limelight ’cause I rhyme tight
Time to get paid, blow up like the World Trade

Born sinner, the opposite of a winner
Remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner

Peace to Ron G, Brucey B, Kid Capri
Funkmaster Flex, Lovebug Starsky

I’m blowin’ up like you thought I would
Call the crib, same number same hood

It’s all good

Uh, and if you don’t know, now you know, nigga, uh.

Is this a thing I’m doing now? I never planned on posting photos of Brooklyn set to rap songs- as a thing- but I was in Bushwick yesterday for my Blogshop class, and I just couldn’t NOT take photos. The area reminded me of Wynwood Walls in Miami. A formerly industrial area, thats now housing hipsters and art. Hipstoria, they should call it. And the reason why I posted the song? Well, I cant see Biggie’s face without hearing “It was all a dream” in my head. Can you? I bet you cant. Think about how awesome that is.

One of the greatest songs, ever. I’m not sure if it was intentional but the last picture was a great way to end the post. Despite the beautiful art & gentrification that’s occurring, Brooklyn is still Brooklyn.

I know I said it the other day but you’re recent posts have been great. Keep up the good work.

You should check out that place NY Garment Wash in your 4th pic, they are famous for crazy denim treatments (acidwash, stonewash, etc) and lots of designers use them. It’s one of the only places in NYC you can get that kinda thing done.

You gotta be fresh! With all the bloggers whining on and on about have to be original and have an original voice – you consistently do. Congrats. To quote Mac Miller “A breath of fresh air is something right”
