This work, titled Medusa, by Tonico Lemos Auad, an artist known for quirky sculpture that takes the mundane and elevates it, like: carpet lint, chain on a wall, etchings on bananas. This piece made of plant and stone, is mysterious to me. What the heck is it about? I dont know. I actually kind of like it, and would like it in a mid-century desert type house as decor. Pretty sure that wasn’t the artists intention. Anyway, I love how this photo I took at Basel shows this woman contemplating it. HUH. Watching people interact with art can be interesting…
Have a happy weirdo Sunday.
