Four Rooms.

I’m sure it wont surprise you to hear that I’m making some more updates to my apartment. Refreshing a bit, but not re-doing. It’s one part boredom, one part necessary. One of the things I’m looking for is a new sofa. You know when you say a word so many times that it ceases to have any meaning at all? Sofa, Sofa Sofa SOFA, SOFA, SOOOOOFFAAAAAAAA? Couch. Couuuuuuuuchhhhaaaa. Well, I’ve looked at so many couches that now I think they are all ugly. ALL. I want to just have a row of chairs where the couch should be. That would solve so many problems, since I have an excess of chairs, and a lack of desire for a couch. Here are four sofas and rooms, that are not making me hate them right now. They’ve been in the files for a while, so I don’t know where I got them. Maybe MFAMB’s Pinterest account. I know people say that having sofas against walls is overrated, but in my apartment, the sofa floats and it REALLY annoys me. It slides, no matter what I do to prevent sliding, and the room is less cozy because of it. Such is life, and I’m not complaining, but I love seeing these paintings over these sofas. Giant painting over sofa is my favorite look.

Have a great day everyone!

  1. the really good ones are too damn expensive for a person in general let alone a person with pets and kids.
and the rest are all super heinous. we’ve discussed this at length but i think you should go vintage until you find one you love enough to spend thousands and thousands on. which is when your kids aren’t still pooping and puking and drawing on everything.

i agree with you about the art. and all of those rooms’ sofas.

i just put 2 white samples up on my wall. one is really white the other is more pinky beige white. i have no idea which is better.

  2. I love the 3rd sofa! I feel ya on this- it’s very difficult to find the perfect couch. It’s quite a process. I know you will find something wonderful (or make it look wonderful). You always do!

  3. i AM SO EXCITED TO SEE WHAT YOU DO… Remember the giant leather couch you wanted at ABC… and then the lucite couch?

  4. I had my sofa floating forever because of the traffic pattern; I thought it needed to float and I didn’t like it, but didn’t see another option. However, I eventually moved it against the wall with a sofa table behind it and I love it. It’s not right against the wall so it feels like part of the room and I don’t have to constantly put it back where it belongs any more.

  5. Why are you getting rid of your JA sofa?!? I love it!
