Celebrity Sunday: Lindsay Lohan on SNL.

A lot of you have been telling me that you miss my celebrity snark, and/or my Real Housewives recaps. (And some others have told me that they don’t watch the RH of anything and that the recaps drag down the blog.) I didn’t purposely stop writing the recaps of the Real Housewives franchise, I was just so disenchanted with it after the suicide that I thought I’d be better off not  touching it.

Sunday is kind of dead blogging day, so maybe I’ll use this  day to discuss little bits of pop culture that interest me? What do you think?

First up, La Lohan’s “comeback” on SNL last night.

Here are my thoughts: I just can’t get over what she did to her face. It’s ravaged. Can you have a comeback if you look SO SO terrible? Its obvious that she doesn’t listen to anyone because if she did, she would go right back to her red hair. In almost every skit they had her in red wigs and she looked noticeably better. The “new old Lindsay Lohan” should have had red hair.

As for her performance, it was spotty. There were moments where her old Lindsayness shined through, gravely voice, cute personality. BUT she read from cue cards and flubbed some lines… which wasn’t the main problem, it was that she was treated with kid gloves. Not in that they didn’t poke fun at her checkered past, in that the SNL cast did all the heavy comedic lifting. She wasn’t in that many skits and when she was in them, she didn’t have that many lines.

So, do I think she can have a comeback? Yea maybe. But in what role? She can’t play someone under 30 with her face looking like a bloated ball of injectables, although her body looked great through out. Unless she took a role like Angelina Jolie in Gia, or Anne Hatheway in Rachel Gettting Married… All I know is she definitely cannot play a cute kid anymore. I’d be interested in seeing her in some serious roles.

I usually skip Lindsay articles and I kind of wrote her off in my head as a lost cause, but last night made me want to route for her again even though it was somewhat sad, and so maybe her mission was accomplished?

Anyway, in closing, the best skit of the night, BY FAR, at least to me, The Real Housewives of Disney:

I actually had real out loud guffaws from this skit.

What did you think of her performance?

I agree with everything you just said. She was basically window dressing in most skits and while apparently sober, also apparently unprepared and lacking in timing skills.

The Disney skit was hella funny though!

I didn’t watch SNL but I agree with you on her looks. It’s a shame to see someone so young tamper with their face like that. I saw her interview with Matt Lauer(spelling?) and her face looked frozen.

Hopefully she keeps it together and stays out of trouble. She’s one of many names I wish we wouldn’t have to read about on a daily basis.

I agree on most counts, but I think “ravaged” is a harsh choice of a word for someone’s face. She’s not Jocelyn Wildestein-yet. It looks like mostly just fillers and botox which Thankfully is not permanent. She probably got juiced up for her comeback from her comeback of the comeback…;)

Real Housewives of Disney was hilarious0the part when she found a monkey hat in her potluck from Jasmine was priceless.

  4. I agree with everything you said. I feel really bad for her because I really want her to do well, but at this point, I doubt she will.

  5. Thank you so much for posting that Disney skit – it’s hilarious!! I actually wish that was going to be one of the next Housewives franchise, but alas…

Also, those pictures are insane! It’s crazy to think that just a few years ago she looked so fresh, natural and pretty. :(

  6. Looking at that old pic of hers you posted, doesn’t she remind you of Emma Stone?

  7. Loved the skit. Miss the old Lindsey. Don’t think this was enough of a comeback for her.

Agree – she needs to lose the blonde hair and go back to her roots! (pun intended) It’s crazy that she is going for the older look when most people are trying to get younger.
