YAY! Another surprise from my sweet hub…. A friend of his bought a bunch of the Missoni for Target bikes and my husband wrangled one for me!  I’ve been meaning to get a bike for Manhattan for a few months now… It feels like everywhere I want to go is just a bit too far for walking(not too far, but 20 min is far if you need to get somewhere quick) and too close for subway rides- and the subways wouldn’t even really help much, and taxis are really expensive and annoying…. SO BIKING! YAY for biking. I can’t wait until the bike rental system comes to NYC…

Anyway, I think I am becoming one of those weird hoarder ladies who only buys the same thing over and over… Am I OD-ing on Black and White stuff? Am I going to be horrifically sick of all this stuff in a year? Maybe. But the bike is still awesome, it looks perfect in my apartment (even though my building has a bike room) and I am having another photo shoot here in a few weeks (for an interior design book! WOOHOO!) And you better believe this bike is going to be in the photos. OH YES. I also plan on changing up all the art in the apartment and rearranging some furniture… I don’t want it to look the same as in the RUE shoot… and this is how life gets expensive… keep trying to fix things that aren’t broken, you end up breaking a lot of things.

(Oh forgot to mention. We had our local bike shop, Kick Stand Bicycles, build the bike for us, AND he replaced all the quick release parts with bolts that can’t be just popped off… in order to minimize the risk of the entire bike being fleeced the minute I lock it up somewhere. I still give it about a week, but still… Anyway, Kick Stand is the place to go for bikes in NYC, Its on 49th between 2 & 1 Ave.)
