How can a room with what looks like those granny 1965 plastic seat covers, a stupid TV mounted at neck breaking heights in the corner of what looks like a dining room/office, and a desk with a load of ugly and outdated electronics still be so pretty? The legs on those chairs are bliss, as is that chandelier, and the height in that room with those moldings. Plus I can spy topiaries on the porch.
Thoughts?

The space as a whole works together, but take apart the pieces and its a big mess!
I’m sure those seats are just super expensive patent leather that just shines too much in the light streaming in from those ridiculously awesome glass doors! I think I hate the hospital room tv, but overall this shows a room that is actually lived in, not just decorated to be pretty. I would love this room completely bare as well. The room is probably what makes the rest look so good!
You are probably right about the patent leather. But I still think that was a bad choice for those chairs.
AND yes, the room is freaking amazing. The TV is killing me though. And we didn’t discuss the DWR vertical bookshelves. Very dorm room chic- eh?
it’s got some great elements but needs some serious editing (and judging by the electronics, i hope the picture is from teh 90′s)
The room itself is 2die4 and I love the promise of the topiaries outside.
The plastic seat covers need to be jettisoned, however!
I like some of the furniture and dislike the ott vertical bookshelves because they look contrived to me now.
The molding, ceiling height, windows and space would be such a spectacular blank canvas to decorate.
The chandy I love!
Great bones (that floor and moldings are freaking awesome) plus some very good furniture plus good photography. The upholstery and the tv are ridiculous, as our the bookshelves. The mess on the desk doesn’t bother me as much.
you are right….hospital tv is embarassing and the patent chairs…..if you wear a skirt or shorts, you’d get stuck on them….the rest is pretty cool.
I think it’s the combination of stylish stuff mixed with random crap. Ever been to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo? It’s got that same kinda feeling – artifacts randomly displayed and/or piled everywhere, but it works.
It looks like it was definitely designed, but not styled for a shoot, hence the tv and other junk. Kind of refreshing actually!
Kinda lovin it! You almost don’t even notice the hideous tv because the rest is just so good. So surprised that they didn’t take it out for the shoot tho.
check out the painting over the laptop!! looks like the one grandpa made!
