Art can complete the look and style of the bathroom just as it does in every other room of the home. Chose art that adds color, interest and fun to the bath. A single painting or a collection of art works can really bring life to a powder room, kids’ bathroom or master bath.

The general rule about art in the bathroom is that it should be behind glass to avoid splashes. Humidity is an issue in the bath so ask your framer about hanging original art in a humid environment.

A small painting or sculpture can set a theme for a bathroom that is elegant and subtle. Nautical art and a small boat give this bath a seaside feeling without being over the top.

Art in the bath can be fun. Framed prints with pithy sayings are great for the bath. Pick prints with a bath theme in bright colors for a kids’ bath or guest bath.

Art in a contemporary style bath should match the sleek lines of the contemporary bathroom light fixtures and furnishings. Colorful glass art is a great choice for any bath.

  2. There are some great ideas here for what type of art pieces and pictures you should have in your bathroom. I like the idea of having a black and white image in a bathroom but it’s all depending on what colour your bathroom is! A black and white photo would look really good in a white bathroom but it wouldn’t have the same affect in a cream coloured bathroom.
