Chic in NJ: Lunch at Avenue.

I’m over in New Jersey for the summer, and this restaurant/beach club/night club is literally one of the most stunning restaurants I have ever been in. Period. Too bad the food is just so so and at night it turns into something out of the Jersey Shore, but whatev’s! In terms of decor, this place is phenomenal. And by that I mean, you are on the boardwalk, feet from the ocean and you are in a room so pretty that those looking for summer home inspiration should make a special pilgrimage.

I would describe the decor as french brasserie meets east coast nautical.

Marble, steel and limed wood. Yum.

The bar is over 25 feet long and the counter top is steel.

How pretty is this? Antiqued mirror backsplash on the bar with colored bottles… LOVE!

Pretty gorgeous, huh? And despite all that, we still chose to eat outside on the deck, overlooking the ocean.

Here we are celebrating my friend Caroline’s birthday!

Avenue is located in Pier Village, Long Branch.

I love The Avenue, my husband and I go for drinks after work all the time (before the “Jersey Shore” crew get there, then we hightail it out of there, haha)! Agreed the food isn’t great, but their raw bar is fantastic and they have $5 happy hour martinis. Check out the Bungalow Hotel around the corner designed by the Novogratz’s, very interesting decor! We also love Moonstruck in Asbury Park, they have a great jazz band on the weekends, good food and a decent wine list!

Too funny! I ate at moonstruck a few days ago! Asbury is my favorite town on the strip. Love the antiquing there!

LOVE antiquing there too, I have found some amazing pieces for my home. Point Pleasant has some decent antique stores as well. Enjoy your summer!
