The Kips Bay Showhouse opens today… Are you excited? Most decortating freaks like me look forward to Kips all year! This year, Im definitely eager to go see whats happening, but my kiddo is on spring break so who knows when I’ll be able to make it. Ill definitely cover it more in depth when I get the chance.
Are you looking forward to going or seeing whats going on? Do you like showhouses? Last night someone in the audience at the design blogging panel at the Open Air Modern said she thinks Kips is always awful! I think its usually both awful and beautiful and that a lot of designers arent really aiming at making “livable” rooms…some of them take it as an artistic opportunity to express themselves.
The NYTimes had a great article about all of the art at the showhouse. Read it HERE.
Here is a first look at some of the rooms:

Getting married in the city on the 15th and would love to try to squeeze in a Kips visit the day after. Might be tight, leaving for Italy in the evening but would hate to miss it.
I’m going to drop in while in NY- can’t wait. I love the Amanda Nisbet bedroom!!!
Thank you so much! We had such a blast coming up with the scheme! Thanks for your support- The AND Team
