Lets start with my favorite room of the entire showhouse.
Designer Jamie Herzlinger happens to be a friend of mine, but if you look at the room, its hella obvious why its my favorite:
Um, yea. It’s the sex on a stick, glamourous bathroom I want to move into and never leave. When Jamie told me that she was slated to do a bathroom at Kips, I was SO excited for her, but I though “Eh, Its just a bathroom”. Could I EVER have imagined that she would create something as beautiful as THIS?
Jamie was inspired by french classical modernism of the 30’s and 40’s. She played with feminine and masculine masterfully. One of my favorite details was the corseted maccasar ebony cabinetry. And OF COURSE those granite floors.
Jamie somehow, magically, managed to make a shower curtain sexy. Since shower curtains genrally repulse me, I’m IN AWE of this one!!
Look how the pattern of the floors plays into the pattern on the wall… Jamie used the Nero Marquina marble as a kind of “tie dye” band between the white and the dark tiles.
And here she is looking gorgeous:
(PS. I asked her if she dressed to match the room… OF COURSE! Her Chanel boots lace up the back, like the cabinetry.)
I couldnt get over the understated sexiness and glamour of this bathroom… I wish it were attached to my master bedroom- wouldnt that just fit perfectly and be amazing?
Seriously though, I would have loved it if Jamie designed the master bedroom that this room would have been attached to as well.
I wasnt sure if I was even going to cover the show again, since I posted some photos yesterday, but personally, I was a little bit disappointed with the photographs the NYTimes article decided to publish after seeing the house. There were so many fabulous angles and rooms that were left out…
Stay tuned for more coverage!
