My Six Favorite Dining Chairs.

Non-decor obsessed people dont really have favorite dining chairs… At least not ones they dont already own.ย But I do.

I love these six chairs so much, that I actually contemplate buying one or two of each one, just to have as occasional chairs. Im not kidding, I’ve almost bought the Cherner, the iron chair, the wood and leather chair and the bone in-lay chair at least 4 or 5 times each now.

But once again- I have to stop myself… I cant go around hoarding chairs, can I?

SOURCES:

1. OLY Studio Tyler Chair: An updated take on a classic. You could never go wrong with these chairs.

2. Cherner Armchair $1149: One of the sexiest pieces of furniture I have ever seen.

3. Iron Chair $299 : They have these at ABC Home for $350 each. And they are AWFUL to sit on, but so sculptural and beautiful.

4. Made Goods Chester Chair: I love the masculinity and the mixed textures of this chair.

5. Made Goods Ines Chair:ย I’m actually using these in this project!

6. Chloe Armchair HERE:ย I used the side chair version of this in my niece’s bedroom.

** You can order any of these to the trade products as well as anything from OLY, BUNGALOW 5 or MADE GOODS by emailing design@stacyayash.com.

  1. I would have a tough time picking just 6! These are all beaut’s but I’m especially fond of the Chester. Though I might reupholster in a lighter fabric.
Some way some how I’m going to have a Louis XVI upholstered in a ikat, and a tolix chair.

Narrowing things down is always a challenge, thats why I sometimes end up with round ups with 20 different things!

But these are my ALL TIME faves. Like I really really really want to buy them for myself. Somehow.

  2. Love all of these, especially 5 and 6. 5 is such a show stopper, looks like this mirror from Wisteria that I have been obsessing over…http://www.wisteria.com/Inlaid-Mother-of-Pearl-Flower-Mirror/productinfo/W448/

great picks, nicole! I love those chairs. hey – do you have to be a designer to buy from Made Goods?

    • Nicole Cohen says:

I think so… I can help you contact them or find you retail info if you like.

Thx! I’ll reach out to you – they have a cute mirrored sconce that I really like…though aren’t you busy enough?!?

  4. I am obsessed with chairs. My dining room chairs are SO boring, I am replacing the end chairs with something I really love (more budget friendly than replacing all 6). Love your choices!

  5. I understand your obsession…. it is why my dining table has 2 different types of chairs. But after these, I can’t help but wonder- do I need a third?

  6. You are not alone in your chair obsession. My husband thinks I’m crazy, because I would have a house full of chairs if I could. Especially no.’s 2, 5 & 6. I love my current dining room chairs, but I am thinking they could use some friends… All of the chairs you love are quite good.

  7. my parents frequent a local auction every other week and always come home with chairs or rugs. we’re a family with 4 kids and i think my dad has enough rugs to furnish a whole house for each of us. we used to live in a large victorian house so it sortof worked because we had so many rooms but now we have downsized since we’re all older so he’s got too many rugs and nowhere to put them haha!

  8. Chair hoarding is the best kind of hoarding ;)

  9. Haha. I so get this. I also love that like me these are all different styles. I wish I could have six homes too so i could incorporate all the different looks I love.

  10. I am so with you on that. I like the idea of all mimatched chairs, or at a minimum different ones for the heads of the table…and then you can switch them all around throughout the house, etc…I could easily buy #2 and #5!
