A custom painting in primaries!

Maybe this is why I have been posting pictures of rooms with primary colors lately? I have been working on this custom painting for a reader for a few weeks now!

I just finished it today and we both love it!!!

It's beautiful! What is the medium? Acrylics? I paint in acrylics and I love this. It makes me feel happy looking at it.

Thanks you! I used to be a strictly oil girl, but now that I am preggers I switched over to acrylics because I didnt want to inhale turpenoid every day. Sometimes I use watercolors too... and spray paint...

Nicole I used to paint in oils until I got pregnant too. I did it for the same reasons! Now, I only use acrylics and will never got back...the oils are too toxic and take too long to dry

Thats so funny! The drying thing is the worst!!! It takes WEEKS for oil paintings to dry. I used to have to leave them on the dining table for literally a month at a time until they were perfectly dry. And then I would touch a blob and it would still be wet. But what about the look? Dont you like the oily look better? I think i do, but maybe I just forgot about how bad oils are.

I like to put a lacquer finish on paintings when I am done with them. It looks really nice. Have you ever done that? It also does a nice job of protecting giclees. Yes, the oils would take too long to dry and I like to make some f my paintings really thick.

Ive tried some types of finishes but I felt like they looked a little plasticky. Sometimes I intensionally make the paintings matte... What type of lacquer do you use. Should we take this over to email?

Looks amazing! I like the attitude, depth and suggestive features. If it were for sale I would buy it now.
