A few more good purples…
Remember when I did the whole Good Purple, Bad Purple post and I said I wasnt the biggest fan of the color?
Well, Im still not gung ho on it- but I am warming up to it… I think I am just really specific about how I like it used: with a very dainty hand. Dont over salt your purple and I think I can get into it.

Right now… I’m actually inspired by the color palate…
I have another non-paying job working for a family member. (Aren’t those THE BEST? Ha!) I was thinking of doing a gray/lavender/chocolate brown + black and white color scheme.
Its an office type room. It needs a desk, a few side chairs and built in cabinetry. I want it to be feminine but very sleek.
I am playing with the idea of the lavender grasscloth wallpaper, but I think I am going to do white lacquer walls, gray cabinetry and woody furniture… lavender velvet accents or a lavender rug like in the unknown picture. I love the bone in lay furniture, but Im not sure where that is going yet. Also there is a wide structural beam behind where the desk is going, and I want to cover that with antique mirror. This moodboard is really more for mood than actual furniture selection. I just figured I’d show you what I was up to…Im going to show my “client” my ideas today…
When I look at the color palate all together, it looks really soothing to me. It needs one more spark of color, which could come in the form of art or flowers… I think once the room is created it will just hit me.
What do you think?

Purple has never been my favorite but these look really really gorgeous. I think the idea you have for the office will be perfect. Cant wait to see how it turns out.
I love that palate you’ve put together. Very nice, Nicole.
(did you see Naomi’s post this morning? She showed us a really great chair fabric.)
I love your board! I also love purple though. I can say though, I do not really like the third pic. Somethign about it just doesn’t flow. Everything else is yummy.

I know what you mean… that third pic is a tad weird, but what I love about it is those chairs. Dont like the chandelier.
This would be my ideal bedroom color pallete! Too bad the beau doesn’t like purple :-/
Lovely job!
