Summer’s Last Stand: Super chic beach house tour.

It’s not every day that I get to show you something NEW. Something that hasnt been blogged about from here to kingdom come. Today, is one of those days people. And hold on to your hats, ’cause its a good one.

My friend who is an art collector and consultant,  just had her first daughter after three sons. She decorated the nursery herself and I just had to come check it out. *The house was designed by Fox-Nahem Associates.

Of course, she has amazing taste, so I knew I would be in for a treat.

Brace yourself, ’cause its awesome.

The Foyer. Those leaves were freshly cut out of her garden.

The living room.

The painting above the couch is by Eddie Martinez, and the one over the fire place is by Dan Christensen.

The furniture in living room is a mixture of vintage and new pieces.

The view from the living room…. the beach.

Chic vignette in the living room. She turned me on to vintage lucite grapes. I now need to own them.

Another little collection… I love how even her pretzels match!

I’m so in love with this living room.

The dining room.

The kitchen. Imagine that… a pretty kitchen that ISNT all white!

Open shelving. LOVE. (Just fyi, thats how it always looks. We didnt style anything.)

We went up these stairs…. (The large photo in the stairwell is by Ryan Mcginley.)

…to find this gorgeous painting by Ali Silverstein. (This happens to be one of my favorites in the house!)

Now a peak into some of the bedrooms…

The Master.

The boys room.

And the cutest, prettiest and coolest nursery ever: Number 1, those walls are mint green grasscloth. Number 2, that is an ikat daybed. Number 3, she had those lamps and pillows custom made by Dransfeild and Ross with ribbon from M&J Trimming. Number 4, that crib is just a standard crib that she had painted. KILLER IDEA. Number 5, She also had that dresser being used as a changing table custom made by Ercole.

Just let me know if you died yet…

What I love about this nursery is that its sweet with out being saccharine and its just the perfect amount of cool without being too funky. Its the perfect modern/sweet little girl’s nursery.I want to scrap Cookie’s entire room to recreate this. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bed! Not your standard nursery chair, huh?

Outside there is this going on:

Perfect for summer soirées. The outdoor furniture is from a bunch of diffrent places including  dining chairs by Patricia Urquiola for emu. The bench is from Crate and Barrel and she had it painted. BRILLIANT. (There is also a couch and hand drawn and custom made mosaic coffee tables by Ercole… not pictured.)

The homeowner is an art advisor who specializes in post war and contemporary art.  She has a great eye for up and coming artists and works with all diffrent types of collectors. If you are a collector, or just an average person looking to buy spectacular pieces for your home, you can contact her. She’s super cool and very talented, (obviously)… so I really recommend calling her if you are in the market for something beautiful!

How amazing is this house? I love the way its both elegant and yet totally cool, beachy and so young and hip. It’s colorful, but not overwhelming… I just love it!

Thanks for letting us in!
