Loss of a matriarch….
My husbands grandmother (not to be confused with my grandmother that I write about all the time) passed away last night. She was 97 and lived with such vitality and grace until the end.I feel uncomfortable writing about such personal things on the blog, but I just wanted to explain my absence and recognize what an amazing, vivacious woman she was. She was still entertaining this past sunday for over 50 of her kids, grands and great grands… We are really going to miss her.

My deepest condolences to your family. xo xo
Sorry for your loss.
Thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
I was wondering where you were all day today. I am so sorry for your loss. Even when you are prepared it is painful, so I can only imagine how you are feeling.

So sorry about your loss.
Sorry for your life, she sounds like a wonderful lady xx
I meant loss Nicole, I was thinking it sounds like a great life at 95, sorry…
thinking of you all, babe.
Thanks everyone! We are all sad, but happy because she lived such an amazing life and was really healthy and strong until the end. She was so loved… Isnt that all anyone can ask for?
Btw, you must know that this grandma was also a SUPER styling woman… She has some pieces in her house that I swear Jonathan Adler must have copied exactly… think burlwood and lucite sideboard. I need to post a picture of that! Parsons tables… etc.
Not to mention she was always wearing hot pink Egyptian dressing gowns and jewelry from all over the world. And red high heels.
She was awesome.
so sorry for your loss. she sounds like an amazing woman!
Prayers for peace for your family. Sounds like she was a wonderful role model!
What a lovely statement for a woman who sounds so well loved during her life and to live to be 97, that is extroardinary. You are right, healthy and strong until the end would be an ideal way to say goodbye. My condolences to you and your family, Nicole. Wishing you the best.
Keeping you and your family in my thoughts.
oh….us too!! mike’s 90 year old grandfather passed away last week. sorry for your loss.
