Vintage Gold Watch… Cool or just not cool?
My MIL had this watch tucked away in her archives for the past 20 years.
It’s a Baume and Mercier gold watch from the 1950s.
Since I am the only one it fits, they asked me if I want it.
I’ve been wearing it for the past few days to see if I like it. It doesn’t work.
I priced it out with some local shops. The gold is worth about $700 and the watch as a whole is probably worth around $1200.
Is this cool in a retro chic way?
At least no one else I know (under 70) has it.
Keep, hold, or sell?

You’ve got to keep the watch, and, in fact, anything your MIL tries to give you.. Cuz you never know when the giving may come to an end.. Plus, it’s good-retro, as opposed to that ubiquitous “I’m-so-clueless-I-think-anything-old-is-cool” retro that’s so nauseating. You know what I mean.
