Things I’m obsessed with. They all happen to be little.

A few weeks ago I was on Bergdorf’s 7th floor, also known as heaven, when I spotted these:

These freakin mini lamps with the neon lamp shades have been driving me crazy for the past 2 months. I need them. They were $1500 each or they would have been mine. Now I have to find a way to replicate them. Desperately looking for vintage bases that are as tiny as these. The shades I can have made. Ideas?

(Also look at all the lucite boxes… they were the inspiration for my etsy collection. But these cost $400 and mine dont.)

Also on the 7th floor is one of the best children’s clothing shops in NYC. I’m now obsessed with buying Cookie back-to-school clothes. Or To-school-for-the-first-time clothes.

It’s no secret that I dress my girl like a little priss, Amish almost.  But now that she is a little older and going to school, I  try to mix in some cooler pieces so that she doesnt look like such a nerd.

Enter Crew Cuts.

What little girl doesn’t need a chambray? A funky mom would put her kid in this with other denim, or black jeans. But for my girl, nice pink leggings,a huge pink bow  and pink Converse make the look cool and girly.  Love this sweater with jeans and a t-shirt. I need a bow to match. I was never a big fan of purple, but this particular shade is sweet and looks great on.  Maybe cute with little skinny black jeans… Dont know cause it didnt come yet.
Classic white button downs. I have about 20 and so does Cookie. I put a red bow or a hot pink bow with jeans…
I’m so pissed that these dont come in her size!  Also obssessed with Phillip Lim’s line of children’s clothing. I bought this sweater for Cookie in pink from Bergdorf’s. I want to wear it. In fact, I think I want to wear all of these clothes.

Cookie’s new clothes…

I also ordered some more stuff from Crew Cuts that didn’t come yet. Think navy blue riding leggings. I still have to buy the BIGGIE. The winter coat. Women literally beat the crap out of each other to get their hands on this years best winter coats… I want to see  if last years still fits first. If not… I’m thinking heather gray pea coat?

I should start a style blog for her and take pics of her every day before school. Haha. That, and an Etsy shop.

I guess I could just go and buy adult sizes in all those “looks” You have done all the work for us. I can’t believe that kids have all those cute sweaters now. BIG TIP Take a picture of her on the first day of school next to the front door. I took my first picture 27 years ago this September. She was going to Episcopal nursery school in NYC. It is fun to see how they grow closer to the door knob, and how the clothes change, and then change into uniforms. I drilled her over and over about how she would go to the same room every time (only twice a week for toddlers.) with the same teacher, and the same kids. And that they would talk one at a time in a circle, read stories, go play on the roof, make things, build things, have a snack. And I would be there everytime to pick her up. She never looked back.
