Secrets from a stylist.
I know everyone is going to be writing about this, but hey, what else was happening in the design world this weekend?
Emily, (HGTV’s new Design Star-duh) turned this LA living room from this:
Into this: 
Via the most convoluted process possible that involved moving couches, coffee tables, a look revolving around FDR, repainting bookcases multiple times and chairs that moved through every room in the house. In other words, kinda what normal people do but over months and even years.
In general, the show is chock full of VERY GOOD INFORMATION! Emily is super quirky, has no idea who the drummer of The Beatles is and she can decorate. I like.
So far, the most interesting show I have ever seen on HGTV.

Girl tell me about it! I was thinking the same thing! This is going to be a really good show. And Emily is so cool. That entire home turned out great and its something that any of us can do!
Meh I don’t like the rug but I do enjoy the rest and think she’s fab. Thanks for the recap- I was out on the town and my DVR was busy with True Blood and Mad Men. Wish they’d move this show to a different night.
Agreed! I only hope they keep the one hour format. I fear they will squish it down to 30 minutes.

She genuinely captured the creative process we all go through.
Whether you agree with her choices or not, she has talent up the wazoo, and a TV personality that is not fake, and gives good useful information for pros and ams alike.
I wonder if we have to wait a year for the real show to get on the roster. I hope not!!!! This was an excellent teaser!!!!
