Cedar Plank Salmon- Make this for dinner.

I was in William Sonoma yesterday with my mom and she suggested I buy Potlatch Seasoning ($9), its a dry rub that she loves on salmon.

Once I was at the checkout, the salesperson mentioned that they sold cedar planks($14.95).  I’ve never used them before, but I know hubs likes to order this in restaurants if its on the menu. Sold!  I followed the instructions on the box:

  • Prior to use, soak cedar plank in water for at least 2 hours or up to overnight.
  • For best results, cook food slowly over low, indirect heat.
  • If the edges of the plank catch fire, spray with water.
  • Once you’ve used the plank, add it to the grill fire to add smoky flavor to other grilled foods.

We rubbed the salmon with the dry rub.  Here it is on the grill:

We closed the hood and about 10 minutes later….

SO easy. And the entire family LOVED it!

Its summer… You are already breaking out your BBQ at every opportunity. Try this if you are in the mood for a seemingly fancy, super simple, really  delicious dinner that isnt meat.

Even I liked it and I dont usually love salmon. We also grilled tomatoes from the garden. AMAZING!
