What’s so good about Nate Berkus anyway? I mean aside from the fact that he decorates for The Big O.
Umm…. Nicole, his rooms are masculine, elegant, chic and rustic all at once, remember? Oh yea! Now I got it. And also, he is getting his own show and allowing bloggers into the audience. OH RIGGGHHTTT… It’s all coming back to me.
Anyway, for Nate Day, I decided to recreate one of my favorite of his rooms.I am actually surprised at how easy it was. Hmmm…. What does that mean? I guess he can take everyday pieces and make a super cool room. Or that anyone can have a designer-y style room with a few clicks of a mouse. Yes. That’s it.
Anyway… Here you go. (If you are a single guy -or funky couple- and you don’t know what to buy for your apartment, go buy this entire set and you will have a very cool bachelor pad.)
Ikea Stockholm Rug: $299
Floor Lamp: $1480
Rolled Arm Sofa $2000
Bamboo Chairs 2 for $700

Greek Key Coffee Table $1625

There are so many reasons I love this post, and Nate Berkus is the least of them.
GREAT take on NateDay! Fantastic break down and there are some really affordable options there! Thanks for joining in on our NateDay project!
Nate is one of the coolest designers…looking forward to his show. :)
I have a secret to share: I tivo this man’s hsn appearances, although I don’t pay much attention to his threadcount
Wow- So glad you all like the post.
Garret- thats embarrassing. But I love it!
The unfortunate fact that most don’t know, is that he comes from a family of privliege and his mother is a social celebrity in Chicago. I know this because I work in the design industry in Chicago and knew his situation before he got his start. So it doesn’t seem very Oprah like for her to endorse someone who would’ve made it big without her help. He already came from money and he’s not an interior designer. He never went to interior design school. But sure he has talent. Sorry to be so negative, but it’s really irritating when people get ahead because they have money and can rub shoulders with celebrities that the everyday person wouldn’t have the opportunity to. As a designer I believe it should be about your talent and gifts. Not that your wallet is full and your mother is a socialite.
maybe i missed it if u did already post it, but where is that bookcase from?
to be more clear, i mean the free standing one on left not the one in the pic of the room
Jen J- So sorry that I didnt leave the link for the bookcase! I guess I just forgot it.
