Yesterday’s Art Project
To create this masterpiece, I painted the entire canvas in acrylic paint. Then I put it in the shower and let the paint drip off. Messy, but effective. (Except that the stretchers WARPED and now the painting wont lay flat and needs to be framed!)
It kind of looks like washed out graffiti to me.
The husband says it looks like throw up. I think its gorgeous.
What do you think?
(I’m framing it in gold.)

I think it looks great too, I’ve thought about using water on some of mine too but haven’t tried it yet. Maybe a spray bottle instead? I’ve seen David Bromstad do that with his, have you?
so gorgeous!! and creative
I love it. I think it would look even better in oil paints, but obviously they stink up the house…
The colors are amazing! The gold will look incredible!
framed in gold it will be gorgeous!
i love it!!!
I could swear that I already wrote back saying that I am so happy you guys like it, AND that
A. I never thought of using a spray bottle, and I just angled the shower head to aim where I wanted. But I am gonna try that next.
B. I used oil paints until a few weeks ago. I paint in the house and I dont have space to keep these gigando paintings while they dry.
K, so I was an art student and have been painting for years and I think it is AWESOME! You should make a series!!!
[...] Shower Painting – Framed By Nicole Cohen, on May 17th, 2010 The painting I put in the shower, framed in gold as promised. It looks so legit now that its not crippled by a warped frame! Even [...]
loved it. Did you do it in one time or painted a layer, shower, another layer – etc.
