How to clean etches out of white marble: YUP!
I am an adamant supporter of marble in the kitchen. I think it is gorgeous and glorious and I caress mine all day.
Despite the fact that everybody seems to think that it will etch and look terrible, mine has held up pretty well, with barely any etching, AND I dont really mind the etches anyway. I think it gives the marble character.
But, randomly, I happened to try this amazing all natural Shaklee product called Scour Off (which is a non abrasive miracle cleaning paste that you should all buy – $8.50) on some etching on my marble cutting board. The product says explicitly not to use it on marble. But seeing as how it was just the cutting board, I didnt mind trying.
Well, what do you know? It worked! I dont know how, but it reduced the appearance of an etch by something like 50%-70%. The etches are only visible now upon close inspection. So I tried it on some other little etches… success!!!
I felt I had to share this with all of you.
WARNING: My counters are honed, I would test it on polished marble in an inconspicuous corner first.

We’re getting ready to re-do our master bath and I really want honed marble. I am trying my best NOT to let everyone talk me out of it…Thanks so much for the back up!
marble in bath is an even easier yes than the kitchen! Go for it. I have it in my bath… nothing to worry about.
