A Gray & Pink Makeover
I spent the first two days of Passover with my parents in Brooklyn. One day, I went upstairs with My 17 year old sister and said thats it: This room needs a makeover! It is currently bubble gum pink from rug to wall to moldings. Its a small room, but the gorgeousness in it is the white and pink tufted antique canopied bed that was my mothers when she was a girl. Its really beautiful. So beautiful that I want to steal it for my daughter!
Anyway, my mom came in the room and we told her we were going to make over the room. She said ok, but the budget is LIMITED. As in, lets see how much of this you could do for as little as possible.
Step 1: Paint. We need to paint over those bright pink walls ASAP. I was inspired by one of those photos from the new RH Child Catalog below and I proposed the elegant combination of gray, pink and white. The doors all have elegant moldings and I think it would be so beautiful to paint the doors and walls a soft elephant-y gray and the moldings a white with just a touch of pink.
Next step, she has no desk. We are going to remove the clumsy dresser and put a small little desk across from her bed. We are also removing the floral drapery and replacing them with soft pink slubby linen drapes.
A new lamp and a pretty mirror and the room is good to go!
