Pianos.
I really want to buy a piano. I grew up with a piano in the house, and despite suffering through years of lessons as a kid, I kind of feel like it makes a house so much more homey. I want my daughter to learn how to play, and I would love to get my fingers up and running again. Plus, obviously, I love the way they look.
So, I perused the internet looking for some pictures and discovered a very thorough post by Things that Inspire. These are some of my favorites….

BUT, I live in NYC and not many New Yorkers have the space for a baby grand. So I tried looking for some gorgeous homes with upright pianos. Not much to be found on the design blogs, but flickr did provide!!
Most of these pictures are old, but even more gorgeous because of it. How beautiful is this first room ? I love it. I really love the little stool.
Do any of you have pianos at home? What do you think of them?

I ADORE a well placed piano.
The worst is when a client just wants one and has no place and they go and buy those hideous baby, baby grand pianos. Ugh. They just dont get it.

I didn’t think there were any sites with content this good. There sure is a lot of trash out there online. I’ll definitely be back to check out future posts…Thanks
I have an old upright piano in my living. I have it place on one wall across from my organ. Even though the room is not very large, we are able to arrange 2 chairs and a sofa and a few end table. Anytime we have looking for new homes, we have always made sure that the living room will look food with both instruments. This has always determined the house we buy. Upright pianos definitely take less room when space is limited but still add much to the decor of the room. Have never really been able to find many pictures either. Have searched around the web several looking for pictures to help with our placement in the room but have found really nothing. So we have just done it ourselves and have been pleased.
