Drapes and shades.
Why is it so hard to finish things? I really cant figure out why I am such a loser when it comes to picking out the last few things for my bedroom. Maybe cause then I will have nothing to do?
So here it is…. You guys all know I have the black imperial trellis room. And the black and cream interlocking elipeses as the rug. I still have home depot $7 dollar shades up in my room. The horror. You guys are going to tell me what to do. On one side of the room I have a large bulkhead that is above three windows. I have a radiator underneath so I have to do romans, and I want to do a valance to cover the bulkhead.
Directly opposite that wall is the two little half walls that separate that room from my little dressing room/vanity area. There is where I plan to put drapes of some sort. And here is where the problems start.
Stripes? Patterns? White? Linen? Silk? Borders? Trim? COLORS? WTF should I do? I really cant make up my mind!
Should they match the romans? Same fabric? Same style? All white? AHHHHHH!!!!
I am arming you with an arsenal of photos. You guys tell me what style you like.

Whoever tells me what to do ( and I listen) will get a prize. I swear.

cannot help u im afraid. curtains, drapes, blinds, a blanket over the window…i am always confused. which is why my windows look like shit, at the very least boring and blah.
BOTH!
oh geez. the never ending window drama. I say go all white. It will make the beautiful black trellis POP! Not to mention if you decide you want to add some sort of border you can without starting completely over. and yes, the fabric must match.

This whole room is a never ending drama!! I am so over it, I am actually starting to hate it. If you just tell me what fabric to do I swear I will send you a present!
I haven’t seen the whole room but I did see the trellis papered wall. I think you should do a white silk if you are going for glamourous or white cotton canvas if you want more casual. And yes, put a border on the romans and panels. It could be black or if you have an accent color already use that. (Turquroise, yellow….) Now, get busy ! I wanna see when you are done….
It’s hard to say since I have not seen the room you intend to hang them in. I love all your photos and I am having the same problem. I have a bay window and I really love curtains but I don’t know how the hang them there, so I think I may do a mix of romans and maybe some curtains on the side.
From your description white or off white roman with a border in black to pick up the details in your rug sounds cool. The drapes in white or matching the walls would look good too. I love your first photo of the gray walls and drapes. I might do that in my place…. if I can motivate.
The second picture down for your dressing area. The border matches so well!!
It looks like everyone loves the white with the borders… I love the ones with the intricate borders as well!! Its a good thing I have access to a lot of trim!!!
Oooh, you’re such an inspiration. I love this blog!
