Some people have very distinct rules about mixing silver and gold. They just wont do it. Mixing metals can be really chic if done well…. I like how these homes used gold as an accent. Silver leaf, antique mirrors, crystal chandeliers and gold accents = some pretty glam decor!

I like it so much, I used it in my own home….. to replace the Ikea Lack Coffee table. The glass and gold Powell Coffee table from World’s Away makes the room seem 10 times bigger and 1000 times better! It picks up on the hardware of the Dorothy Draper style Sideboard and the gold marbling in the framed papers. It also ties into the floor color which is stained a honey brown. AND it even ties into the kitchen seen below. The lower cabinets of the kitchen are a yellowish color and the marble is Calcutta gold, which PERFECTLY ties in the white lacquer, yellow wood, and silver strie walls. I dont know about you guys, but I love how its turning out so far…. I still need some more furniture… but we are on our way!

Yes, I am so thrilled! I still need a sofa table and another piece of seating for the living room… like a bench, x benches or a chaise… dont know what yet.
I am excited/nervous for the trip! I am acutally about to start packing!
BTW, I also ordered library sconces from circa to go over my headboard… very excited for that. Oh and I have another surprise which you will love, but its not coming till after the trip.
