I am so sick of seeing this:

I know that there are people just trying to sell me things, so that’s why they pile on the pillows and quilts and blankets and skirts and drapes ( whew!), but come on! Not one magazine or hotel styles beds like this anymore.
The second picture is the new Kelly Wearstler for Sferra bedding available at Neiman Marcus. It’s nice, but the styling is still a little too much for me. The third is just simple hotel bedding. Love it, crisp and neat, there is just too much of it.
Here are some beds styled by the late Domino Magazine. All keep the decorative stuff that you have to throw on the floor before getting into bed to a minimum. (This post reminds me of that scene in Along Came Polly when Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston stab the throw pillows.)

These next two pics are from the Viceroy Palm Springs. This is how people style beds when they are trying to sell you a good nights rest and turndown service. The crisp white pillows look so inviting!

So what do you think? Euro Shams, Boudoir pillows, rolls, coverlets? Or simple pillows you can use to sleep?
I think I like this idea: Simple pillows stacked, 2 for each person, BUT, a throw at the end of the bed over the duvet… and maybe a roll or two to use when you want to lay on the bed and read or surf the web. I say this because I sometimes lay on top of my bed and need a cover, but dont want to go in, and my two pillows are too soft to prop me up nicely.
Thoughts?

yuck. yuck and yuck. just use what you need is my opinion.
i have a king size bed and use 4 king size pillows. i have run the gamut of accessorizing my bed in the 10 years i have had it…(hmm..maybe it’s time for a new bed). and have settled on 2 in the back, 2 in the front. white sheets, creamy white chenille blanket and white quilt over that. bright raspberry throw on the end courtesy of ikea which i change frequently. i am searching far and wide for a cheap version of the d. porthault heart sheets.
i love simple beds with very few pillows.
Non- white bedding is beyond awful. EW.
Did you have any luck finding the cheap version of the Porthault heart sheets?
