My Master Bedroom
As some of you may know, I am in the process of designing my new master bedroom. I started with this bed (well not exactly, but similar). I am putting the black Imperial Trellis on the wall behind the bed. The grasscloth on all the other walls. Then, I am putting the Stark Carpet on as an area rug and using the black nailheaded Bungalow 5 side tables with mirrors mounted behind them. Then I am going to use either the black or the white Barbara Cosgrove Estate lamps behind them. In the corner, the Oly Chair in Curry leather, with a white Barcelona Ottoman. I want to mount reading lamps over the headboard but I still havent found them yet… Any ideas or comments on this?

I already have it in the other room, so if it doesnt look good i can just put it back there.
I def like the White lamps better…they will really POP off of the black trellis paper.
I agree with above that I am not crazy about the Barcelona ottoman in this instance. I do love it though.
Also, if you are looking for some reading lamps Circa has wonderful options. I don’t know, but I like the idea of them being some sort of gold or antiqued rubbed brass. Not shiny, just dul gold. Do you have access to buy these direct from Visual Comfort? If not, let me know if you find anything and I can help you out.

Thanks a lot! Ill look into the Circa reading lamps and I kinda agree about the barcelona stool. Its in my den now, so ill just try it and see.
Do u like the grasscloth on the other 3 walls? My mother
(still telling me what to do) is killing me not to do it.

I am torn on that. It really could go either way. Have you thought about painting the crown and base around the room black to tie in all of the walls? Is that too crazy?
I think that you have to go with your gut…if it says grasscloth go for it!

I didnt put crown moldings in, so I think it will look unbalanced without it…. I was thinking of using a 4 inch band of the grasscloth all around the black wallpaper to kind of frame it out.
I saw grasscloth with black panel moldings in bergdorf, it looked so damned beautiful, it’s kind of where I got the idea to do it with the black paper.
The gut says go for it, but it will be a huge mistake to correct if it looks bad!
The perils of design…it is not as easy as people think sometimes.
Well, the Bergdorf grasscloth with the balck panel molding does sound amazing…but I am not sure I see the band of Grasscloth around the black paper. It might start to look messy and fight with the trellis paper.

I just ordered the restoration hardware library swing arm sconce for a client to put above her night side table.
Can’t wait to see pics once it’s all done
